About the Speaker:

Dr. Bob Seney, Professor Emeritus/Gifted Studies from Mississippi

University for Women will deliver his keynote "Responding to the

Gifted Reader" and then expand on this with his breakout session

"What's New in Young Adult Literature: 2010 Edition" (a book list will

be provided). Since gifted students are usually proficient readers,

their reading needs and reading instruction are often overlooked or

dismissed as "They can handle it on their own."  Dr. Seney investigates

the reading needs of gifted learners and will provide suggestions and

strategies to help strengthen and motivate gifted learners in their

reading.   You can find more information about Dr. Seney in our July Newsletter,
